Director of Development Operations
ThThe Director of Development Operations will keep iNaturalist’s major donor and institutional fundraising team running smoothly by managing the CRM and related technologies, leading on fundraising analysis, and managing direct response.
InaiNatururalist’s development team manages major gifts and institutional fundraising, while leading development operations for development and community fundraising, which is housed in the engagement team.
ESESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS
Manage and maintain fundraising database and related technologies, including ongoing documentation of business rules and practices; coordination with engineers or product staff to integrate the CRM with iNaturalist platform as appropriate; training and coaching staff to ensure consistent use and application; management of vendor relationships; coordination with the community fundraising team; and support of data hygiene functions
Lead reporting for the development department, offering analysis of and insights from fundraising trends and activities to support fundraising strategy development and management
Manage strategy for and implementation of direct response program, including vendor relationships, for the development department
Support all aspects of the development department
REREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Five or more years experience in development operations role
Fluent in English, both written and verbal
Must be eligible to work in the United States
KNKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Experience managing fundraising CRMs and related technologies (experience with Virtuous and/or FundraiseUp particularly valuable)
Familiarity with donor-centric fundraising strategies, preferably in distributed contexts
Experience with direct response fundraising a plus
Excellent attention to detail
Strong analytical skills
Comfort coaching others
Excellent written communication skills in English
Ability to work with independently as well as in collaboration
Ability/willingness to travel on occasion
Ability/willingness to perform after-hours maintenance and monitoring
Ability to set up and maintain computer hardware provided for the job
Experience using iNaturalist is a plus
