Development Manager
POSITION SUMMARY
The development manager will support iNaturalist’s major gifts and institutional fundraising through research, writing, donor engagement, and general support. iNaturalist’s development team manages major gifts and institutional fundraising, while leading development operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS
Prepare briefings, gift agreements, reports, and other correspondence for prospects
Prepare or support grant and partnership applications, proposals, concepts, and reports for individual and institutional donors
Conduct prospect research and prepare briefings for development leadership
Support donor outreach and engagement, including occasional travel
Support all development department activities, as needed
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
At least three years experience in a development department, preferably in major donor or institutional fundraising
Fluent in English, both written and verbal
Must be eligible to work in the United States
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to work with independently as well as in collaboration
Excellent organizational skills and prioritization
Excellent written communication skills in English
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to collaborate within and across departments
Familiarity with fundraising CRMs (iNaturalist uses VIrtuous, with connections to iWave and FundraiseUp)
Astute attention to detail
Ability/willingness to work after-hours when needed
Ability/willingness to travel on occasion
Ability to setup and maintain computer hardware provided for the job
Experience using iNaturalist is a plus
