DMFA 2020 Year End Event

It's time to celebrate the end of 2020 and the DMFA is having a virtual extravaganza. Log on and join us to hear Alicia Meulensteen from the ACLU speak on diversity and your donors, celebrate of our Marketer of the Year, enter to win fun holiday raffles and network online. Your registration cost includes entry into our holiday raffle giveaway in which we raffle off dozens of great prizes. 

Thanks to our fabulous sponsors, if anyone has a financial reason for not being able to attend, they can apply for a scholarship. 

DIVERSITY AND YOUR DONORS

The past four years, and past few months, have brought an enormous amount of activism and engagement on long-ignored social issues. What if the work required to meet the moment is uncomfortable or unpopular with our donors, and our existing donor base has to be brought along, instead of leading the charge?

Philanthropy is rife with the same issues our society at large is contending with-- inequality and disproportionate representation of a powerful few—and our funding models are only exacerbating the problem.

You will find out:

  • How do we as fundraisers and partners welcome and retain future donors who may look more like our clients and less like our patrons?
  • How do we make the case for the long-term value of these perhaps costlier changes to secure the backing of our leadership for these long-term and deeply important changes to our donor files?

This year the proceeds of this event will be donated to DMFA member, Girl Trek. We’re proud to support Girl Trek’s work encouraging African-American women and girls to use walking to inspire healthy living, families, and communities.
