As fundraisers, we know how important it is to meet our donors wherever they are, on whatever platform they’re using. And yet few organizations are harnessing the power of peer-to-peer (P2P) texting as an additional method of engagement, let alone as a fundraising driver.

Creating a seamless donor experience is paramount, and P2P texting is a powerful tool which cuts through the noise and creates a touchpoint on an object which, at any given moment, is usually within arm’s reach. You’ll hear from organizations who have used P2P texting for acquisition and appeals, for renewals and reinstatement, and for just checking in – fundraising is about relationships, after all! To top it off, P2P texting has a great return on investment and can return campaign results at warp speed. So when you’re asked, “what’re you doing?” the answer will be clear: making P2P texting your organization’s new best friend.

As telefundraising’s effectiveness is waning, texting is becoming an increasingly successful and important tool for fundraising and engagement. Add to that the low setup cost and quick turnaround on campaign results, and P2P becomes a very attractive new channel for nonprofits, for whom every dollar counts.
